The process involved with a Turnkey Project

1. PERMITS AND CONSENTS
There are many regulations you must follow when building a new dairy and these vary between regions and countries. Your project manager from Waikato Milking Systems will be able to get these permits sorted for you.

2. SEE WHAT’S OUT THERE
Having a look at other dairies is a great way to see what technologies and dairy layouts will work for you. We can introduce you to farm owners and staff in your area. It is a good idea to take note of the aspects of the dairies that appeal to you.

3. CHOOSE CONTRACTORS
We will arrange the contractors for you. We use only skilled and experienced contractors to ensure quality results, and we ensure their services are delivered on time, to specification and to budget.

4. PLAN THE DESIGN
Before we begin the design work on your behalf, we will visit your site and discuss your requirements so we know exactly what you want. We will coordinate the full design process for your approval, ensuring the design meets your needs, suits your systems and future expansion plans, and provides optimal cow flow.

5. REVIEW YOUR BUDGET
We will give you the best advice on all your options to achieve the results you want within your building footprint, your farm business needs and your budget. Waikato Milking Systems has a range of options for all budgets. Remember that it is always cheaper to have the equipment installed from the start rather than retrofitting technology down the track.

6. CONSTRUCTION
We will manage every aspect of the building process including obtaining resource consents, excavation, effluent pond installation and overseeing the building contractors. We have many years of experience in design and build projects so will ensure you get the best outcomes and integration.

7. TRAINING AND IMPLEMENTING
Take time to get to know your new system. Put together an implementation plan with your staff.

8. ONGOING USE AND MAINTENANCE
Getting good processes in place takes time and they need to be regularly reviewed. A maintenance plan is crucial to ensuring the longevity of your new Waikato Milking Systems plant.
